Quality Evaluation of Strawberries Grown in Various Regions by Singaporeans and Japanese

The objective of this study was to evaluate the quality strawberries distributed in global markets. We obtained from Egypt, Mexico, Republic Korea, Spain, and United States America (US) being sold Singapore, compared them with Japanese (cv. Benihoppe) using instrumental analysis sensory evaluation. Sensory evaluation conducted by Singaporean assessors. results showed that Egypt were relatively close, but others significantly different. US Japan had high total soluble solids (TSS) content, while those firmer higher titratable acidity (TA). In evaluation, assessors preferred low These findings suggest varieties TSS TA are desirable for market. addition, assessors, tended prefer lower TA. preferences may change depending on eating habits region.
